Pirates sign two-Time Valley MVP to letter-Of-Intent

HARLINGEN - The Victoria College Pirates added an outside hitter to their roster Tuesday by signing Harlingen South's Mikela Mireles to a letter-of-intent.

The 5-foot-10 Mireles was named the Valley Morning Star's Most Valuable Player as a junior and senior. She had 725 kills, 540 digs, 41 service aces, and 36 blocks last season in leading Harlingen South to a bi-district title.

As a junior, Mireles recorded 602 kills, 513 digs, 35 service aces, and 30 blocks for the Lady Hawks.
