VC signs Coastal Bend College transfer

Victoria College added another member to its inaugural National Junior College Athletic Association team by signing Coastal Bend College transfer Ahitzia Zapata of Los Fresnos.

The 5-foot-9 Zapata, an outside hitter, saw action in five matches last season for Coastal Bend College. She will be a sophomore for the 2019 season.

The Pirates will make their NJCAA debut at home on Aug.22 against Wharton County Junior College.
