Ganado volleyball standout signs with Victoria College

GANADO – The Victoria College Pirates added to their inaugural National Junior College Athletic Association volleyball roster Tuesday by signing Ganado defensive specialist Nicole Ressman to a letter of intent.

Ressman was a second-team All-District 28-3A selection her senior season.

"I am excited to be able to play close to home," Ressman said. "I'm also happy to compete with girls who I competed against in high school."

Ressman said she was inspired to play college volleyball by her mother, Emilie Ressman.

"She has always pushed me to do my best and be a leader for my team," Ressman said. "Ever since I started playing club volleyball, my goal has been to play in college, and I'm proud of myself for achieving that goal."

Victoria College will make its NJCAA debut on Aug.22 at home against Wharton County Junior College.

"It's exciting to be a part of a growing program," Ressman said. "I feel like this group is going to have a good season. I am excited to see how far we can make it."
