VC beaten in three sets by WCJC

WHARTON - The Wharton County Junior College Pioneers took a 25-13, 25-21, 25-17 Region XIV volleyball victory over the Victoria College Pirates on Wednesday.

The loss dropped the Pirates to 7-15 overall and 0-7 in Region XIV play.

Ryndee Weishuhn (Columbus) had eight kills and three digs for the Pirates. Anisa Martinez (Taft) tallied seven kills, Valerie De La Fuente (Mission Veterans Memorial) added 12 assists and Marianna Romero (San Antonio Warren) recorded 16 digs.

VC will host Trinity Valley Community College in a Region XIV match on Tuesday at 6 p.m.
