TVCC rolls to three-set win over Pirates

The Trinity Valley Community College Cardinals swept past the Victoria College Pirates 25-19, 25-20, 25-21 in a Region XIV match Tuesday night at VC's Sports Center.

Ryndee Weishuhn (Columbus) topped VC with 10 kills, and Anisa Martinez (Taft) and Pilar Garcia (Pasadena Memorial) each added seven. Valerie De La Fuente (Mission Veterans Memorial) had a team-best 18 assists and Nicole Ressman (Ganado) added seven digs.

VC saw its record fall to 7-16 overall and 0-8 in Region XIV matches. TVCC improved to 22-4 and 6-2.

The Pirates will conclude their inaugural National Junior College Athletic Association season on Friday at 6 p.m. when they host top-ranked Navarro College (23-0, 8-0) at the Sports Center.
