The Wharton County Junior College Pioneers defeated the Victoria College Pirates 25-23, 25-12, 25-22 in a Region XIV volleyball match Thursday at VC's Sports Center.
Miyah White (San Antonio Wagner) topped the Pirates (2-7, 0-2) with seven kills. Addison Amick (Boerne) tallied 20 digs and two service aces, while Maddison Heibel (Mary Hardin-Baylor/Industrial) posted 15 assists and nine digs. Makenzie Gerlach (New Mexico JC/Mission Veterans Memorial) had 18 digs.
