Pirates reach 10-win mark for first time in school history

BEEVILLE - Mikela Mireles (Harlingen South) had 11 kills as the Victoria College Pirates reached the 10-win mark for the first time in school history with a 25-22, 22-25, 25-19, 25-21 Region XIV volleyball win over the Coastal Bend College Cougars on Saturday.
Makenzie Gerlach (New Mexico JC/Mission Veterans Memorial) tallied eight kills, six digs and two service aces. Anisa Martinez (Taft) had five kills, three blocks and two service aces.
Maddison Heibel (Mary Hardin-Baylor/Industrial) posted 22 assists and 15 digs.
The Pirates improved to 10-21 overall and 3-13 in Region XIV matches.
