Volleyball Releases 2023 Schedule

Full 2023 Schedule

Twelve home matches in the Victoria College Sports Center highlight the 2023 schedule for the Pirate Volleyball team. The Pirates open the season with a tri-match at home vs Our Lady of the Lake - JV and the Dallas College Mountain View Lions on Friday, August 18th. They will also host Dallas College Cedar Valley the next afternoon, Saturday, August 19th. 

The Pirates will then travel to Ranger, Texas for an appearance at the Ranger College Wrangler Roundup. While in Ranger, the Pirates will face host Ranger and Dallas College Eastfield on August 25th. The following day, the Pirates will take on 2022 NJCAA National Tournament contender Seward County and have a re-match vs. Dallas College Cedar Valley. 

Region XIV conference play for the Pirates will kick-off in Baytown, Texas on August 29th vs the Lee College Navigators and will continue on the road against the Tyler Junior College Apaches on September 5th. The Pirates will bring home conference play on September 6th with match opponent Wharton County Junior College before facing 2022 NJCAA National Tournament contender Blinn College in another home match on September 12th. 

The Pirates return to the road for a six-match road stand including two non-conference opponents, Dallas College Mountain View and Seminole State. The Pirates finish up the road stand with the first match of the "South Texas Clash" against conference rival Coastal Bend College on September 26th. 

The second round of Region XIV play will begin at home with a match vs Tyler Junior College on September 29th and will continue with a home match against Lee College on October 5th. The Pirates will then make their way up Hwy 59 for a match-up with the Pioneers of Wharton County Junior College on October 11th. 

Match number two of the rivalry dubbed the "South Texas Clash" will be held in the Victoria College Sports Center on Saturday, October 14th followed by the 11th annual Megan Diaz Memorial Alumni Volleyball Game on October 16th. 

The Pirates then head to Brenham for their last regular-season road match on October 19th for a re-match against Region XIV conference opponent, Blinn College. A return to the Victoria Sports Center for matches vs Navarro, Panola, and Trinity Valley will wrap up the regular-season for the Pirates. 

The 2023 Region XIV Volleyball Tournament will be hosted by Lee College in Baytown, Texas on November 3-5th. The 2023 NJCAA Division I Volleyball Championship will take place at Hutchinson Sports Arena in Hutchinson, Kansas on November 15-18th.
