VC Names Assistant Volleyball Coach

Victoria College is thrilled to welcome Karrian Chambers as the newest addition to the volleyball coaching staff. With an impressive background in both playing and coaching volleyball, Chambers brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to the team.

Extensive Coaching Experience

Karrian Chambers served as a Travel Volleyball Coach for the Texas Advantage Volleyball Club (TAV) from November 2019 to July 2022 in Spring, TX. During her tenure, she played a pivotal role in the development of individual players and groups, focusing on sports rules, game strategies, and performance principles. Chambers had a knack for adapting her coaching techniques to suit the strengths and weaknesses of her athletes. She also meticulously analyzed opposing teams to develop effective game strategies. Her commitment to evaluating athlete skills and performance records helped identify potential and ensure the team's fitness.

One of her key responsibilities was traveling with the team to away contests, providing valuable insights and support during critical matches. Chambers' dedication to fostering athlete growth and improvement made her a standout coach at TAV.

Chambers also has experience coaching beach volleyball as she worked as a Beach Volleyball Coach for the Beach South Volleyball Club in Piedmont, NC, from April 2014 to July 2015. Here, she organized various sports-related activities, including training camps, skill-improvement courses, clinics, and pre-season tryouts. Much like her previous coaching role, she adjusted her techniques based on the strengths and weaknesses of her athletes and developed strategies to tackle opposing teams. Communication with parents was an essential part of her role, ensuring everyone was well-informed and questions were answered promptly.

A Background in Professional Play

Karrian Chambers isn't just a skilled coach; she has also made her mark as a professional volleyball player. She played for the O.P.E.R. Volleyball Club in Rethymno, Creta, Greece, from November 2014 to March 2015, where she led her team as captain. Her dedication to the sport was evident as she attended scheduled practice and training sessions, constantly improving her own skills. Chambers also assessed performance post-competition, identifying areas of strength and areas in need of improvement.

Before her professional career, Chambers played NCAA Division I volleyball for the University of North Carolina at Greensboro from July 2010 to May 2014. During her time as a student-athlete, she received instructions from coaches and sports staff, enhancing her skills and knowledge. Chambers participated in athletic events and adhered to established rules and regulations. She maintained peak physical fitness through rigorous training, nutrition plans, and consultation with health professionals. Her commitment to the sport was evident in her consistent attendance at practice and training sessions.

Karrian Chambers earned her Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) from the University of North Carolina in Greensboro in May 2014, further solidifying her knowledge of the game and her dedication to volleyball.

With her extensive experience as both a player and coach, Karrian Chambers is poised to make a significant impact on the Victoria College Volleyball program. Her passion for the sport and commitment to player development align perfectly with the values and goals of the team. We eagerly anticipate the positive influence she will have on our athletes and look forward to a successful season under her guidance.
